Supply chain optimisation is the improvement of the entire flow from raw-material procurement to customer delivery along the axis of cost, speed and reliability. The process consists of the stages of mapping the current state (as-is analysis), identifying bottlenecks and cost leaks, and drawing up a road map for the target state (to-be). Supplier positioning, order cycle times, transport frequencies and inventory management policies are the basic parameters of this analysis.
